In 2008, Gareth competed in the VdeV UK endurance championship, racing alongside Chris Buncombe, Paul O'Neill, Matt Allison and most recently Phil Quaife in an IF Motorsport Ligier.

Howell and Quaife ended the season in style, winning the final two rounds at Croft and Silverstone for the Bryce Wilson-run team.
